Traditional yet modern quilt design with color-forward inspiration, education and thought-provoking guidance woven throughout.
Quilting is more than just sewing pieces of fabric together. Every quilt has a story, from its historical roots to a story that is shaped by you, the quilter. The story is shaped by the choices we make, ranging from fabric colors and texture, the scale, the pattern design, and the quilting, backing and binding.

About the Blog
I want this blog to be a space dedicated to traditional quilt design with a nod to the modern movement. Here, we will explore how color influences mood and movement, how intentional design choices create balance and affect visual impact, and why finishing details matter as much as pattern or fabric selection.
What You Will Find Here
This blog is a blend of inspiration, education, and encouragement to create what inspires you. You will find conversations around:
Color-forward thinking
How value, contrast and palette shape the way a quilt feels.
Design Intention
Thinking beyond instructions to consider balance, scale, thread selection, and the visual story of the quilt.
Confident Finishing
Backing, batting, quilting and binding are all part of the design process and not an afterthought!
Who This Blog is For
This space is for quilters who want to enjoy the whole process of the quilt. It's for makers who appreciate traditional as well as the clean lines, geometry, and color palettes of the modern quilt movement.
A Bit About Me
I'm Rhonda, the designer and maker behind Prime Time Quilt Co, where I create quilt patterns, offer longarm quilting services, and teach and encourage quilters how they can approach their work with confidence and intention. I particularly love working with fabric and color, and exploring how small changes can make a big difference.
An Invitation
I invite you to follow along as we explore all things quilting and comment or share your thoughts. No "quilt police" here. Just a place for ideas, and exploring fabric, color, and and the quilty side of life. Also, you may find a recipe here and there. After all, cooking is creating, too!
